I just wanted to tell you all about my progress in becoming a MCSE!
(Microsoft Certified System Engineer)
Here is a list of the certifications that I have taken so far.
Things are going well so far. I am currently a certified A+ Core Technician
and I have taken the Networking Essentials Certificate as well. I also can
add the NT Server and Workstation certification to my resumé now :)
This also means that I am now a MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional!)
The next certification I am going to take is the NetWare 5.0 Administration.
NetWare 5.0 Administration went well and I am now a CNA! :-)
(Certified Novell Administrator)
Next step is TCP/IP!
Well, TCP/IP was not so hard as I thought it would be. All went quite well!
I am going to try to take the certificates for Windows 95/98 next.
This was not too difficult either, although Windows 98 was a bit harder
than I would have thought. But it all went well anyway!
Next step is NT 4.0 Enterprise!
Enterprise was not a problem and everything went well. This also means
that the certificates I now have taken gives me the right to call me a MCSE!
But my course is not over yet, now we will take the IIS 4.0.
(Microsoft Internet Information Server 4.0.)
Well, I took a chance and took the test before we even started the teacher
led class. I also took the test for MS Proxy 2.0 at the same day. And, it all
went just fine. IIS was easier than I thought and MS Proxy a bit tougher.
I think I will have to stop taking two tests at the same day, my head is full! :)
Thanks to the IIS, I am now a MCP + I as well. Next test that I will take
according to my course is SQL 7.0. This will be a lot tougher as far as I
know.
And so it was, I have just failed my first test. But I will try again soon!
I will also look at the MS Frontpage 98 certification.
I managed to take the MS Frontpage 98 certification. It was one of the harder
tests that I have taken so far. I will probably take a shot at Site Server
3.0 later.
Perhaps I can take the MCSE + SB title (SB = Site Builder).
I failed a second time on SQL, but yesterday I did the test for the third
time
and this time I finally passed!!! It feels really good, especially since this
mean
that I am now a MCSE + I. Next step on the ladder will be a course in Exchange.
Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5
70-081: Implementing
and Supporting Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5
The test for Exchange went well although it was a bit harder that I would have imagined.
Next step is SMS 2.0 - System Management Server 2.0.
It did not work out for me. SMS 2.0 were much harder than I thought, I failed.
And I also ran out of time as my course is now over. It ended on October 1st.
