Who is Stephen Merrell?

Looks
Stephen is a small, slender, spectacled young man with delicate features, yellow hair, pale blue eyes and a soft voice.

Likes/Dislikes
Stephen is a big baseball fan and his favourite team is the Boston Cubs. He tries to get to watch at least a few of their games live every year.

He does not like not to be believed and can be very offended if someone does not trust him to manage something when he himself is confident that he can.

Behaviour/Quirks
He always tries to help people and sometimes a bit too much. He is a bit overconfident and is not always ready to accept the fact that there are people who are better that he is.

Stephen is somewhat of a caffeinist and requires at least a couple of cups of coffee per day or else he gets a headache. This originates from his first year in collage when he tried to stay up late to study for his exams.

Character story
Stephen was born in Innsmouth 25 years ago, he has an older brother, Peter, who is working as a lumber jack in the woods that surround the town. Stephens ability to study has shone through throughout all his years in school. Now it has earned him a research scholarship which lets him assist professors in their ongoing reasearch and perform more advanced research of his own, something that he has been doing for the last two years.

Currently a resident in an apartment right in the attic of the school's research building where he has only one neighbour, a middle aged archaeologist professor named Samuel O'Connell. Samuel is a preoccupied scientist who he has gotten to know pretty well. The professor's current field of interest lies in a strange newly discovered cult called The Order of Oon which should have existed, here, in Innsmouth about a hundered years ago.

Since Samuel told him about the new cult Stephen has been a bit jumpy. The school can be a very big and empty place at night. But there is of course Harold, the school guard, who patrols at night to make sure that no uninvited guests enter the premises.

One night though he could swear he heard a deep breath resounding in the building. This is something he hasn't told anyone, and he does definately not want to make a fool of himself telling it to the professor.
