STARDUST WE ARE
Written by Wilfred de Bruijn

This band of virtuosos is a product of Sweden. In interviews I read they want to make enjoyable music for everyone, without horror lyrics or a wrong image. Something to be proud of for their grandchildren. I think they succeeded with this double album with 130 minutes of beautiful progrock. They are influenced by several bands, artists and music-styles and that's certainly clear when listening to "Stardust We Are". You hear AOR, American pomp-rock, progmetal, Zappaesque rhytms, country, carnival music and new age mixed together in a unique blend of very enjoyable music indeed. Longer songs are seperated by short musical interludes, all concluded by the title piece which leaves you breathless for more than 25 minutes. Every proggy in the universe should at least have heard from this band, which can be mentioned one of the hopes for the future of prog.
