"Near Life Experience" is the Swedish progressive metal band Mayadome's second release. After the successful "Paranormal Activity", Mayadome skillfully and convincing strive forward with complicated song structures, crunchy riffs and excellent keyboards. Dream Theater and Symphony X seems to have made a big impression on Mayadome. Although still showing great enthusiasm and creativity they belong in the Dream Theater vein. Showing no fright for technicalities beyond great guitar and keyboard solos. Since singer Björn Holmqvist's department, Teddy Möller (drums) executes the vocals with great fulfillment. The album totals about 50 minutes and feels like it's one song short, but "Near Life Experience" is still a great production!s
