A double live album of the masters of complex and original music. It was recorded in 1973 but released by the band in 1997. The
recordings took place in The Netherlands in the Concertgebouw (a location of great history and the home of the Dutch classical
orchestra "Concertgebouw-orkest"). The acoustics of this room are very famous, and the sound of this live recording is very good,
considering it's 24 years old. The line-up is one of the best possible, with David Cross, Robert Fripp, Bill Bruford and John Wetton.
The show had a mixture of improvisation and well known songs in it, with a lot of use of dynamics and contrasts between nice
smooth keyboard sounds and raw electric guitar power. If you like to discover the world of the original progressiveness of music, but
you don't know where to start in the large discography of King Crimson, this live recording gives you the perfect introduction to the
early years of a band without any consessions to anyone.
