LIVE AT THE WHISKEY
Written by Magnus Florin

Kansas on the road in the year of -92, and Kerry Livgren with a special guest appearance. He enters when it's time for "Dust in The Wind". His own intention with this guest thing was to solve some relation problems with the band. I don't know he's referring to Steve Walsh, but after this tour with the band they had forgotten all that ever was between them.

Except for the Introduction, they introduce this concert with one of the parts from "Magnum Opus". After that they really get on to rockin' with the speedy Paradox. I think that is a cool idea. "Magnum Opus", and then I'm reffering to the whole song, used to be what closed their shows. This recording has really nothing bad to offer when it comes to songs and sound, but if I should say something about Steve Walsh and his voice... I love it! His throat is very torned by the years of touring, but I still like his style. He sings really just the same things as he has always done, it's just that it sound a little different. His phrasings in Dust In The Wind is the best I've ever heard.

Of course "Carry On Wayward Son" is a part of the show too, but the closer is "Down The Road", a really fast one. The bonus track "Lonely Street" is a cool slow shuffle thing from a previous tour back in -75. Steve Walsh on the top.
