MIND OVER MATTER
Written by Magnus Florin

GAlleon, the swedish progressive rock band with thir -98 released album. Göran Fors on vocals and bass sounding a little, or to put it right qute a lot like Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull. His voice only though, since the vocals melodies remind me more of Marillion. There's sure some Fish in it, but also the guitar melodies of Marillion. Galleon, is a band with quite long songs. The shortest "Starstruck" is eight minutes, and really good, but the other tracks are a bit longer, 14:15, 10:44, 12:30 and 21:19. It's kinda hard getting grip of these songs, but that won't be a problem if the listener just put some time into it. The introducing track "Art Gallery" is one of the best of the whole album too. The music is really a lot like a mix of Genesis, Arena and Pendragon. That's a great way of describing it. Check out Galleon if you run into them, cause it might be worth it fo those who like the above mentioned stuff.

MIND OVER MATTER
Written by Greger Rönnqvist

Galleon have made a giant step forward in the right direction with this album. One of Sweden's top melodic progressive rock bands have made their finest album to this date. Five great tracks that range from 8:02 to 21:19 minutes.

Their music is and has always been very keyboard oriented. Their music is reminiscent to bands such as Genesis, Manticore, Marillion, Pendragon and Rush. I have always had some problems to get into Galleon's music, but once you have listened to it a couple of times it's quite enjoyable. The highlight is the opening track "Art Gallery".

This is also Mats Frost's best cover painting for Galleon to this date.

This is the album to start with if you never have heard Galleon before. And with such a good album I think that you should give them a chance. A Swedish classic?
