Dyslesia was founded in 1986 and started out as a Heavy Trash
band. Nowadays their music has turned towards progressive speed
metal. This is their debut CD. Their influences are Helloween and
Queensryche. Unfortunately you get the impression that the singer
Thierry Lebourg is trying to hard to sound like both Michael Kiske
and Geoff Tate. Thierry's high-pitched vocals are excellent on
some tracks, but he can't keep in tune as good as for example
Michael Kiske.
Besides Helloween and Queensryche there's also reminiscences to
Angra, Edguy, Iron Maiden, Rhapsody and Stratovarius. The
highlights are "My Own Revolution" and "Fallen Angels".
The CD booklet is very nice and looks very expensive. It also
contains the lyrics to every song. It looks like Brennus really
believes in this band. This is a convincing debut and I believe
that Dyslesia has the potential to develop further with their next
release.
