The main and most interesting thing about this band is without any doubt
the vocals. They are for sure desperate sounding, although great! It's strange
but I shouldn't like this at all really, but for some reason I do. I really
do. The album starts out with very heavy stuff coming from the rhythm
section, with pounding guitars, bass and drums. After a while the "music" started and I
got some interest in the sound of Bromptons Cocktail. At first it reminded me
of an album by Teru's Symphonia, which is progressive or better called
symphonic rock with Japanese female vocals. That album is good just because
of the cool arrangements, and Bromptons Cocktail remind me of that
because of their crazy ideas. I mean, this vocalist don't sound sane at all.
Unique is a word I would gladly use more often when talking about this
band.
The are hard to describe. It's like Marillion, Genesis, Arena rock combined
with everything. Well, those three bands are what comes in mind when hearing
this album, but all of a sudden something very strange may happen and then
the music is unexplainable. Really cool album this one. Titles like "The
Adventures of Commodore Impossible", "The Organgrinder" and "Snail" will for
sure be remembered and this album will be played more in my house.
