Description

Dolet was a famous French translator of the 16th-century. Our Dolet is also a translator, but this time between different music programs that previously would never talk to each other.

Dolet works by using MusicXML, a new interchange format for online sheet music. It is based on Internet-standard XML format and represents much more music notation information than is available in MIDI.

Dolet for Finale lets you import SharpEye Music Reader files into Finale. You can read files created in newer versions of Finale with Finale 2000 or 2001. Dolet for Finale lets you exchange files with TaBazar, MuseData, and other music programs that support MusicXML.

Patterson Beams [Part of Patterson Plug-in Collection] 1.12 Robert Patterson Shareware ($59 for the complete collection)
Description
Patterson Beams edits beams and stems. The beam function adjusts both stem lengths and beam angles based on the staff positions of the notes and the number of notes in the beam. Wedges are also removed. (For a definition of "wedge," see Ted Ross, "The Art of Music Engraving and Processing", pp. 98-99.)

The stem function of Patterson Beams affects only stand-alone stems that receive Finale's "shortened stems." These are stems pointing in the "wrong" direction, normally because they have been frozen, are attached to a chord, or are part of multi-voice texture. Finale arbitrarily shortens stems to the short-stem length, creating an ugly transition between normal and shortened stems. Furthermore, only unflagged stems are shortened. The stem function of Patterson Beams smooths out the transition between normal and shortened settings and also includes flagged stems. (Stems with more than 2 flags are appropriately lengthened.)

Patterson Beams installs three menu items in your plugin menu. These allow you to execute the beam function, the stem function, or both.

A German version of Patterson Beams (Patterson-Balken) is also available as an alternative for German speakers.

Description
Mass Copy allows you to copy certain note-attached items (including Tuplets) from one place to another, without having to copy the notes they are attached to. Description

Text Editor provides a way to view and edit text documents while using Finale. Text Editor can open and edit plain text files of any creator, formated text files in the Macintosh standard SimpleText format, Finale ETF3 and NGMA files. It can also direct Finale to open regular Finale files (type 'FIN3') and 'Midi' files.

This version of Text Editor has facilities for interfacing with the Lyric and Text Block Tools. It permits you to hyphenate lyrics according to the contents of a "hyphenation dictionary" loaded into the plugin. You may construct your own hyphenation dictionaries and load them in as required. You may both create and edit such dictionaries in Text Editor. The format of these dictionaries is discussed in the documentation. You can extract any or all lyrics and text blocks in a score to an editing window. You may then save them to a file or edit them and place them back in the score. This bulk extraction method will provide a label for the type and number of the lyric/text block.

The latest dictionary update is Latin 2.0.4 which also includes a dictionary for Italian has been contributed by Giovanni Doro. Giovanni has kindly offered to compile master dictionaries from existing hyphenated lyrics. Please write either Giovanni or myself for further details.

Text Editor also has a Listings feature which provides detailed information on many of the items such as Articulations and Expressions in a score. There are extensive scripting capabilities using the Tcl language with support for AppleScript. Text Editor can create Text Expressions from lines of styled text.

Description
Tie Mover supplements the Mass Mover:Change Ties function that is built into Finale. Its primary purpose is to solve a vexing limitation of Finale's Tie Options. Finale does not provide different Tie Settings for notes on lines and spaces, and it is impossible to choose settings that work equally well for both. However, it is quite possible to use Inner settings that work for notes on lines and Outer settings that work for notes on spaces, or visa-versa. The problem then reduces to the need manually to switch either notes on lines or spaces from Outer to Inner (depending on your Tie Settings). This, among other things, is what RGP Tie Mover makes easy for you.
