PIXEL EDITING
First in the graphics category we have the standard Pixel editing. Pixel editing is when you edit every pixel in a picture. A pixel is the smallest editable thing in a computer picture. It is one of the most common picture editing method. Most pictures on the web is made whit this method. One of the biggest advantages of pixelediting is that you can edit colors globally. To pixeledit a picture you need a godd editing program lik Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. Adobe's program is one of the besst programs availible. This picture is done in Adobe photoshop and is an example of what you can do. Very relaistic effects are made whit this editing method. One of the big drawbacks whit Pixel edited images is that nothing is exact round. If you draw a circle it is not exact circular because it is based on pixels and they are square shaped.
Vektor based editing.
Vektorbased
editing is when you draw pictures whit mathematical equations. i
will not explain how they are caluclated becasue you are probably
not intrested any way. Vektor based pictures are almost never as
realistic as pixel edited or Raytraced images. The big advantage
of this method is that the shapes are exact. Circles are really
circles because they are based on equaitons and not pixels. on
the other hand global color editing is not allowed here. On the
other hand there are nice features like almost unlimited zoom
whit no quality loss. To create this kind of pictures you need a
vektor editing program like Corel Draw, Corel Xara or Adobe Illustrator. i prefer the latter one because of its
simplicity. To enhance Net speed this picture was converted to
JPEG file format. And it is not made by me.
Raytracing is a very diffrent type of pictur editing. When you raytrace you first create a wireframe model of the scen that is going to raytraced. Then you add materials, lights and sometimes cameras. Finally you tell the computer to render the scene. This will take a minute bute when you are finished you will see that was wort waiting for. Raytracing gives the most realistic images compared to the other methods. That is because you use a lot of math to create your image. The computer caluclates every light ray from the light. It takes care of the material is glass or it shall reflect or just shine on through. Features like global color editing and unlimited zoom is not supported. Raytracing is related to CAD (Computer Aided Design) and Solid CAD. To create this kind ofpicture you need sophisticated software like 3D Studio, POVRay or Softimage. Note that this picture is a lot smaller and has bad quality just to enhance the net speed. Everyone doesn't have a T3 connection.
