Flow Acoustics
Aim: To present the
fundamental theories for sound and propagation in
fluids with non-stationary (turbulent) flow
fields
Syllabus: Sound propagatio in
moving media. The wave equation with source
terms. Lighthillns theory for aerodynamic sound
generation with applications. Sound from moving
sources. Sound propagation in ducts and
pipes.Self sustained oscillators-Whistles. Sound
generation from various fluid machines.
Laboratory exercise: Sound
propagation in ducts with flow.
