Tomas Rahkonen was born in 1966 in Degerfors, Sweden.
He received his M.Sc. degree in computer engineering in 1991 from
Luleå University of Technology, Sweden. In April 1994, he
received his Lic.eng. degree from the department of Industrial
Control Systems, Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden
In April 1996, he received his Ph.D. degree from the same department.
