University: Received a MFS-scholarship from SIDA, the Swedish International Development Corporation Agency, in 1995. This scholarship enabled me to conduct my examination paper in Social and Economic Geography at the University of Madras, India. For two months I did a Minor Field Study in the slums of Madras, where I interviewd poor women about their working opportunities. I have put this report, "The Vicious Circle of Poverty - A Gender Aware Approach" on the Internet.
The examination paper for my Master's Degree in Social and Economic Geography was done in collaboration with Länsstyrelsen in Örebro. The name of this report is "Kulturmiljö som lokal utvecklingsfaktor - Nora före och efter Europa Nostra" and is about the problems of regional development in the region of Bergslagen, Sweden.
Other: I have written articles for the local newspaper in my home town, Sala. Occasionally I hold lectures at the University of Örebro at the course "Human Geography" about my experiences in Madras.
