Diceahtlon is a Decathlon in dicegames. I have tried to put together the best dicegames that are not just luck but also requires some skill. (well, at least some...) Every game of the 10 included, gives a pointvalue after an easy calculated formula and the object is of course to get the highest points.

The games 100 and Cosmic Wimpout uses a "timescore". The integer is of course the number of rounds it took to get to the goal, and the fractions is calculated like this: (goal-points you had)/(your points this roll). Goal = 100 or 500, depends on what you play, Points you had = The points you had before you reached the goal, your points this roll = the points you rolled in this round.

Example: in the game "100" , after 11 rounds you have 92 points, and in the 12:th round you roll 5,2,6 and stop at 13 points. Your total is now 105 p. So the integer is 11 and the fraction will be (100-92)/13 =0,615. The "timescore" will then be 11.62

DicePoker

5 dices, 10 rounds. Try to get points by rolling these combinations, you have 3 rolls in every round.

1 pair 1 p.
2 pairs 2 p.
Three of a kind 3 p.
Small Straight (1-5) 4 p.
Large Straight (2-6) 5 p.
Full House 6 p.
Four of a kind 8 p.
Five of a kind 10 p.

Train

6 dices, a game similar to Ship-Crew... first you must roll a "engine" (6) and then a "tender" (5) and then there are cargos (4,3,2) and caboose (1). see my "train" page for more details

100

1 dice, You have to reach a 100 points or more as fast as possible, the dicethrow counts as usual except for a 1. If you roll 1 you will loose all your points this turn and the turn is also finished. In every turn you can roll the die and add the score as long as you dare...

Here is a simple Qbasic program

Jump

Simple dicegame inspired by Pole Vault. First you create a "height"-schedule on what heights you will jump over. And then you play like this: First you roll one dice to see how many meters you'll make (if you roll a "6" it will count as a "5") , after that you roll 2 dices to see how many decimeters you'll make (the results from the rolls are added) and finally you roll 3 dices to see how many centimeters you'll make. Max. is 638 cm. You have 3 tries on every height and you are allowed to skip heights... You don't have to roll all dices if you already have blew it on the first roll

Yatzy

Normal (swedish) Yatzy. You are allowed to cancel rows, even if you can write your comination on another row. It's only the dices used in the combinations that are counted. The Bonus and/or Yatzy is worth 50 points.

Think to a Thousand

1 dice, if more than one player play at the same time, then all players use the same dicethrow. This is also a simple math-game. You have 3 big squares with 3x3 small squares in it. The first 9 rolls shall enter the first big square in any free small square, when it's done you'll get 3 3-digits number, those numbers are added together and the object is to get close to 1000, the closer the better. You score one point for every point that misses 1000, example: 979 is 21 points and 1056 is 56 points, the object is to get the fewest points. Afterwards the points are added together to get the score.

Sequence

6 dices, 10 rounds. The object is to roll as long straights as you can. Every straight has to begin with 1 and you have 3 rolls in every round. You are allowed to hold or roll any dice anytime, You'll score the points the counted dices show. (that is of course 0,1,3,6,10,15 or 21)

Choice
