Season´s Greetings to all of You.

Dear friends,

Our year of 2006 has been hectic as usual. With a big family and a demanding work situation we have not been very good at keeping in touch. We do, however, find it important to keep in contact with our friends, so this is a way to keep you up to date with our lives:

The winter of 2006 offered plenty of snow, which we took advantage of by skiing a lot, both cross-country and downhill. We had a long and warm summer, and we spent a lot of time in Skottan, our summer place, where we enjoy spending our free time. In August Anne celebrated her 40th birthday with a party at Skottan, with some of our closest friends. It was a very fun party, but we decided not to publish any pictures from that... The autumn was first nice and warm, but after a few cold days in beginning of November it has been raining more or less constantly. It has been disadvantageos for us since we started rebuilding our house in September and it is still not finished. We have added a bedroom and some extra floorspace in the living room upstairs. The windows took forever to get here, but now they are finally installed. We hope to finish the rebulilding by Christmas. It will certainly be one of our most appreciated Christmas presents this year.

A snowhorse

The winter of 2006 offered plenty of snow. Here Anne has built a snowhorse for Karin outside our house.

Bandy player

During winter 2006 Johan played bandy with the Gripen bandy club.

Ski tour

We had many opportunities to ski last winter. Here is Anne (with Karin in the sleigh behind), Matilda and Johan.

Ski tour

Per enjoyed the white winter for a change.

Ski tour

Karin enjoyed riding in the sleigh after Anne. Faster, faster she was yelling...

Skiing

Matilda really got the hang of cross-country skiing this season. Here she is well ahead of Anne, with Karin in the sleigh.

Matilda riding the sledge

In February we took a Sunday trip to Skottan, our summer place. There where over 1 meter of snow, and the children enjoyed riding the sledge down the neighbours slope.

Anne at Skottan in winter

Anne enjoyed the warmth in the late winter sun.

Anne is teaching Karin to ski

One weekend we went skiing in a slope nearby. That was Karin's first time on downhill skiis, 2.5 years old. She did really well!

Down hill skiing

Karin switched between riding her own skiis and on Annes back.

Down hill skiing

In early April we went 5 days to Branäs for better downhill skiing. Matilda and Johan developed very much in their 3 days ski school group. As a matter of fact the advanced childrens skiing group included only Matilda, Johan and the skiing teacher!

A long winter

Usally we hardly get any snow at all in Trollhättan, but last winter we had snow from January to late March! This photo is taken outside our house on March 26th. On that day we recieved 20 cm of new powder snow!

Johan with missing teeth

In April Johan lost his first two milk teeth, 8 years old.

Soccer player

Both Matilda and Johan plays soccer. Here Johan is playing one of hist first games ever. May 2006.

Matilda as captain

At one of Matildas soccer games in May she was appointed captain of the team.

Dalaborg

In June we went to Dalaborg on Vänern to visit an old middle age fortress and market place.

The end of 3rd grade

In early June Matilda finished 3rd grade. Her favorite teacher, Miriam, left the class after four years.

Ellies Christening

In June we went to Ellies Christening in Växjö. Ellie is the youngest daughter of Åsa, who is Matilda's, Johan's and Karin's oldest cousin.

Ellies Christening

Matilda was very proud to hold Ellie. Johan and Karin is standing next to them. After this occasion Karin calls all babies "Ellie".

Riding a railway trolley

One day during our summer holiday we went for a railway trolley ride in Bengtsfors, Dalsland. That was a fun trip for the whole family - except for Anne, who was stung by wasps three times that day.

Visiting the Hanås family

In August we went to Instön on the west coast of Sweden to visit the Hanås family. Here Per and Holger is taking a rest on the terrace.

The fortress of Carlsten

We visited the fortress of Carlsten on Marstrand together with Sofia, Holger, Jenny and David Hanås.

Karin on the trampoline

Karin enjoys the trampoline at Skottan very much.

Matilda at the bridge at Skottan

The bridge at Skottan, that some of our friends helped us to build, was frequently used last summer. We had a wonderfully warm and dry summer.

Johan at the bridge at Skottan

Even September was warm. The last swim at Skottan was on September 23rd. When we took up the bridge for winter, on October 1st, the water temperature was still 17 degrees centigrade. Thirty days later, on November 1st, we had the first snow fall!

Rebuliding

In September we started to rebuild the 2nd floor of our house in Trollhättan. This picture was taken before we started.

Rebuilding - almost finshed...

This photo was taken on December 17th. We hope to finish rebuilding by Christmas...
