The 2002 Helvetis-Boda Challenge Trophy was played in Öregrund, 150 km North-East of Stockholm, a beautiful spot on the coast that offers great parties during the annual music festival (for which we were not present).
We stayed at a beautiful sea front hotel, enjoyed good food, sauna and gambling nights where we stayed. Due to the comfort of the hotel, this trip meant spending much spare time indoors and after massive consumption of beers, shots and Bloody-Mary´s on friday night, we managed to go through a game of Risk without any fistfights. We must be getting older and wiser (or simply more tired).
On the Saturday night we made reservations for a supposedly "Big Night" at the next door pub/disco, but to our disappointment it turned out to be the gathering place of the local 18-20 year olds. Regardless of this, we decided to enjoy the night by dancing and drinking it away at the mentioned pub/disco. When the "skin-dance" came on (all youngsters looked really puzzled), I myself managed to crack the bottom lip open on a fairly drunken 18 year old boy. Due to his age, a napkin and a beer turned out to be just the compensation he wanted (but in all honesty did not need). In other words and in combination with the special rythmical movements of Goose (which did not leave an eye dry among our friends), we managed to set an new standard for true entertainment in Öregrund.
This year we enjoyed very good weather during the whole weekend, sunny and 25 degrees warm. In combination with two rounds of golf (most played fairly well) at Öregrund GK (nice course), I think we all went home very pleased (and tired) on Sunday.
