The 2000 Equalizer Trophy, was played the 23-34 of September in Sundsvall.
The reason for playing the tournament so late in the year was to enable Goose and Noge to participate despite recent fatherhood. Unfortunately, non of them chose to participate when the tournament came around, so most of us found ourselves freezing our butts off in the early morning cold for "nothing".
The tournament turned out pretty much like most other tournaments in Sundsvall with beautiful weather and good golfing. We were just as happy about playing at Öjestrand G.C. day one as we were disappointed to play at Gnarpsbaden G.K. day two. Gnarpsbaden G.K. Turned out to be a course with extremely narrow fairways and impossibly stone riddled semi-roughs. To make matters worse, most of us had never experinced such a physically demanding course. Heavy climbs and falls followed each other in rapid succession. Despite the fact that the last nine holes were quite alright, most of us decided to never go there again.
At the end of the day, Mats stood victorious, becoming the first player to ever win two tournaments.
