The 1996 Helvetis-Boda Challenge Trophy was the spring tournament premier. Richard had bought the golden (classic) Trophhy and it sparkled like gold in all of our eyes. It would become the symbol for whipping the ass of all of our best friends.
Mats, being semi-pro at this point in time arranged the whole tournament in Västerås, 100 km west of Stockholm. We lived in a cabin on a camping ground and the six of us spent long nights playing risk and drinking beer in a 4*3 yard kitchenette.
Rain poured down on us two of the three rounds (played Friday to Sunday) but that never put a chill on the excitement of playing our first tournament.
Being the first season for four of us, naturally Mats and Per-Morten laughed when all the rest of us at one time or another managed to score 5 points (or more) on some holes. These guys knew it, they would never stand a chance.
Rimpa managed to win this first ever tournament, very much by scoring 46 points the second day of golf. He produced "magic" according to Nisse that had held the lead up until that point.
