Savage Garden's first released single. This debut song went to 4th place on the Australian National ARIA Charts and achieved a 3rd place on the AMR charts. It held its top 5 position for 4 weeks and went platinum (Over 70,000 sold). When released by Columbia Records on an international level to let the rest of the world hear this talent from Australia it went Gold in the USA, selling over 700,000 copies!!! And it was the highest selling Australian single for 1996.
This is one of my favorite songs by Savage Garden. Of course I love all of their songs but this one has a little extra coolness in it. I love this song on Accoustic/Live version!!! Check the video and audio samples page for it.
Darren's comment on " chica-cherry cola " :
During an interview Darren said that in australia they don't have Doctor Pepper or Cherry Coke so the first time he came to America he was totally blown away by it. Rather than using a product name like "Cherry Coke" he made the word " chica-cherry cola " instead.
