Björk "Like someone in love"

During the recording session of The Sugarcubes' "Stick around or joy"-album, Björk sneaked off to Chicago to record eight songs made famous by Chet Baker, together with 80-years old harp-playerCorky Hale. "I've always been quite obsessed by harp music, not the angelic stuff but the contemporary twentieth century harp music, which is very challenging. Paul Fox told me he knew of this woman who played jazz on the harp which is music I'd has in my head for many years, so he introduced us". Björk also claimed she was so moved by Corky Hale's music, she kept bursting into tears all the time during the recording session.

"Like someone in love" is one of the songs Björk recorded with Corky Hale during that session. It was originally written by Johnny Burke and Jimmy Van Heusen. When Björk and Nelleh Hooper put together the "Debut"-album they added sounds of birdsong, sea swell and people talking to this song, to match the atmosphere.

The words

Lately I find myself out gazing at stars
Hearing guitars like someone in love
Sometimes the things I do astound me
Mostly whenever you're around me

Lately I seem to walk as though I have wings
And to sing like someone in love
Each time I look at you I'm light as a cloud
And feeling like someone in love

Sometimes the things I do astound me
Mostly whenever you're around me

Lately I seem to walk as though I have wings
Run into things like someone in love
Each time I look at you I'm light as a cloud
And feeling like someone in love
Like someone in love
Like someone in love
