Björk "Hyperballad" (part
1)
The single's first track is the radio edit of the song "Hyperballad". It's
a shame they didn't put the original version on this single 'cause they've
been cutting away the glorious ending at this version. Three more versions
of the same song can be found at this single. The first one is called
"Hyperballad (Robin Hood riding through the Glen mix)" and it's a little
bit blousier than the original version. It's re-arranged by Howie B and played
all the way by an interesting keyboard-sound. The melody has also been changed
into something blousier so this remix hasn't got much in common with the
original-version. The next remix "Hyperballad (Disco Sync mix)" couldn't
have a better title. It is a disco/trance-remix and it sounds like what
disco/trance-remixes usually sounds like. That basically means a new drum-sound.
But please don't misunderstand me, it is a good remix though. The drum-sound
and the groovy bass-line works perfectly all right together with the elegant
LFO-created keyboard-sounds. The remaining remix is a kind of boring one
but it has got loads of cool synthesized effects and I guess that's what
saves it. So is this single worth the money then? Well, yes. Howie B's
"Hyperballad (Robin Hood riding through the Glen mix)" is already a given
track for the "Best mixes from the album Post...."-single.
