History

The year was  1823 and the date December 2, when John Oxley´s cutter entered the river under orders from His Excellency, Goverrnor Brisbane, of the New South Wales Colony. Due to his favourable report, a settlement was established a year later and from these quiet beginnings, Brisbane, capital  city of Queensland was born .

Through the years of peaceful change, Brisbane has become a city of international renown, a gateway to the world for the states rich mineral and agricultural produce, with a growing commercial and idustrial infrastructure.

Brisbane has a high standard of living, and the population has grown quickly to over one milion. It is a fitting tribute to the pioneerig spirit of the early settlers and the progressive attitut of succesive  generation

  LONE PINE- KOALA SANCTUARY is the oldest Koala sanctuary in Australia. Opened in 1927 by Mr Claud Rein with two koalas, it now boasts over 100. Situated only 11 kilomrters from Brisbane City in Fig Tree Pocket, Lone Pine is an abundanse of Ausralian wildlife set in 24 hectares of beutyful riverside bushland. Cuddeling koalas and hand- feeding kangaroos, wallabies and emus is all part of a fantastic family day out.
