Our Summer programme includes the following
activities:
Horsebackriding: A whole day-trip through lush valleys and open
country-side. Our horses are tourist-friendly and we can accommodate both beginners and
more experienced riders.
Trekking: An experienced local guide takes you on a walk over the
mountains. The rushing water of the small rivers, the open-range and the possibilty of
snowy-caps is just a selection of what we will pass. Lunch, which we promise will be part
of the experience, will be eaten in a cabin in wild reindeer territory. Hopefully, they
will make an appearence as this is prime reindeer pasture.
Wild-life safari: One evening, we can take our canoes and paddle down
the river that runs through the village. We can watch how masterfully the beavers build
their dams and hopefully observe a moose quenching his thirst at the water's edge.
"Around Härjedalen": After several days of activity it may
be nice to slow down by taking a sight-seeing tour. One of the beauties of Härjedalen is
that you can visit the Lapps, Sweden's indigenous people, in their traditional setting and
working in their traditional industry of reindeer herding. Lunch is eaten at a restaurant
that appears like an oasis in the desert. We recommed that you try the local specialties
while you enjoy the views. The famous mountain road, Flatruevägen, takes us over the
summit and at 904 meters above sea level provides the perfect backdrop for photographs of
the Skanderna mountain range.
Fishing: The rivers, streams and lakes of the area are teeming with
salmon and other fresh-water fish. The evening is the most rewarding time to go fishing
and our local guides know the waters well enough to enough to satisfy both beginners and
experienced fishermen. |
