From DOS:

1. Download the NHLDOS.EXE file to the directory NHL 97 is installed to (i.e. C:\NHL97DOS).
2. Type NHLDOS.EXE -O and press ENTER. This is a self-extracting archive.
3. NHL 97 has now been updated to version 1.1. To start the game, simply type hockey.

1. Download the NHLWIN.EXE file to the directory NHL 97 is installed to (i.e. C:\NHL97WIN).
2. Open the folder that NHL 97 is installed to and double-click on the NHLWIN.EXE icon. This is a self-extracting archive.
3. NHL 97 has now been updated to version 1.1. To start the game, simply double-click on the NHL 97 icon located on your desktop.

1) If you are part way into a season of NHL '97, simply install this update as described above. Your season data will remain intact and you can continue play without any updates or modifications.
2) You cannot play a network or modem game between an original NHL '97 and an updated NHL '97. If you attempt to do so, the computer with the update will deny the connection, and the computer without the update will simply hang.
