Welcome
to the unofficial Ralph Lauren Homepage. Since he first introduced men's
ties in 1967, Ralph Lauren's work has come to represent the best of American
design. His name, synonymous with natural elegance and enduring style,
has shaped the way PLAYERS dress and live. This page is dedicated to that
style which POLO represents, and the style that PLAYERS around the world
strive to achieve.

"My goal in design is to achieve the ultimate dream--the best reality imaginable." With those simple words, Ralph Lauren, chairman and chief executive officer of Polo Ralph Lauren, describes the creative quest that drives his international empire. His design philosophy is equally straightforward: "I believe in design that has integrity, design that lasts. Whatever it is, it must be part of the lifestyle and become more personal with time." Throughout his career, Ralph Lauren has reinterpreted themes of yesterday, whether they be from a movie or a part of American history, and has translated them into an American classic. He takes classic styles to another step, making them newer, hipper, younger and more diverse. With quality and staying power key elements of all his designs, Ralph Lauren also blends romance, innovation and tradition with inspirations that travel across time and culture: African Safaris, English aristocracy, downtow cafe life, old Hollywood, the Western frontier, Santa Fe adobes, Eastern prep schools, and competitive sports. His first store opened in 1971 and eventually led to his New York City flagship store in the Rhinelander Mansion on Madison Avenue, which debuted in 1986. In 1993, the Polo Sport store opened directly across the street. There are now 130 Polo/Ralph Lauren stores around the world including London, Tokyo and Paris. Today, Ralph Lauren's world includes fragrances, men's & women's fashion, accessories, footwear, hats, leathergoods, eyewear, a home collection of fabrics, furniture, linens, glassware and tableware, and his most recent introduction...a line of clothing for boys, girls, infants and toddlers.
