The time of the silence came!
Perhaps the words did not fall ever as heavily as
for this column.
You know: With Sauber, nothing runs easily at the
moment, nobody in the team is satisfied - and for once I would like actually to say
nothing at all to the current position!
The time of the silence came. I am a professional -
and starting from tomorrow with the Barcelona tests mean job I hope that the new
aerodynamic sections, which worked satisfactorily in the wind tunnel rinse us somewhat
forward.
Noise and unrest bring few in the current situation
with the search for solutions.
It is important that all people in the Sauber team
try to understand me and my type:The Jean Alesi, who does not think still for a long time
of a resignation, wants simply as fast as possible better results! Some people addressed
me before the start in Monaco on the fact that Olivier Panis 1996 in the Ligier Mugen of
start position 14 won.
And I drove from the same position...
Condemned, there I rather run on, than waiting that
before me over ten cars may fail. The luck may help you calmly once - however you must
come under normal conditions from own strength forward. Otherwise the formula 1 is indeed
no fun.
At most I was pleased during the GP Weekend in the
principality about the Formula-1-Chef Bernie Ecclestone. I congratulated to him to the
purchase of the circuit of Le Castellet in Southern France. Since Ecclestone acquired also
still the close been situated airport, we may expect the ideal Formula-1-circuit of the
new millenium there. With the most modern systems. With best safety precautions. With most
overhauling possibilities. With the maddest comfort for the spectators. And Le Castellet
causes always beautiful memories with me. Because on this circuit I raced on 9 July 1989
my first Grand Prix. Behind Senna, Mansell and Patrese I became fourth in the Tyrrell Ford
- and all were jubilant to me at that time too.
On next Monday in Florenz my Formula-1-colleagues
and I again may experience a happy moment! we will play football lead by our Captain
Michael Schumacher for a good purpose in front of approximately 40,000 fans against the
strong eleven of the Italian singers with Eros Ramazzotti.
And I may tell you here, what may be a in the gate
of our opponent: It is Fiorentina ace Batistuta. He told it to me on Sunday in Monaco,
when I congratulated to him to the 1:0- goal on Saturday against Lazio. A Goal, which
probably brings Milan the title. And unfortunately not my Juve!
