We reported in the August 7 News Wire that Helena Christensen, Naomi Campbell and Vendella had made some new TV ads for Victoria's Secret. We also reported that the three supermodels were joined by Dennis Rodman, Adrian Paul and Katy Segal. We were unsure whether or not Rodman had modeled the subject of the spots, a "seamless bra." We now know he didn't, but instead sported some tiny black briefs. The "Daily News" (8/19/96) reports that his briefs and Helena's black seamless bra created some interesting sparks. When Helena adlibbed and asked Rodman "What would you like me to wear under it?" referring to the bra, he replied"Me." It's a good thing these folks aren't spokespeople for Crazy Glue.
According to the "New York Post" (8/7/96), Victoria's Secret, unfazed by the controversy surrounding its Claudia Schiffer commercial, has just had more risque spots filmed in Hollywood. Shot by Herb Ritts, the commercials have Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen and Vendela demonstrating the wonders of "The Most Perfect Bra," a seamless garment that's said to give its wearer a perfect silhouette. Wearing little else, the supermodels were joined in the ads by Dennis Rodman, Salt 'n Pepa and Katie Segal (from "Married with Children"). It's not clear whether Dennis Rodman modeled one of the bras or just admired those who did.
Model/musician Donovan Leitch doesn't seem to have the glam rocker act down yet. Leitch, who is the frontman for the band Nancy Boy, was finishing a show at New York City's M-80 club last weekend when he decided to take a flying leap off the 8-foot high speakers -- and came crashing through the stage below. Unfazed, he pulled himself up as the crowd, including supermodel Helena Christensen, howled and cheered.

Created by the Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association, the segment gives beauty tips for women cancer patients coping with the side effects of chemotherapy.
Supermodels are doing their share to help raise money in two high profile charity events this week. According to the New York Post (6/24/96), supemodels Iman and Naomi Campbell will be at the Beauty for Life benefit for female cancer tomorrow. And on Thursday, the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association is announcing it's similarly goaled campaign, "Look Good, Feel Better" at the Michael Kors showroom. Supermodels Niki Taylor, Helena Christensen and Eva Herzigova are attending.
Extra (6/20/96) spotted supermodels Helena Christensen and Elle Macpherson at the L.A. premiere of Stealing Beauty on Wednesday. The movie, about a girl who loses her virginity, was one that Elle knew all about. "It's something I can relate with, but it's been a while," she said with a laugh.
Supermodels Naomi Campbell and Helena Christensen were presenters at the World Music Awards broadcast last night on ABC. Campbell presented Michael Jackson the award for the World's Biggest Selling Male Artist of 1995. Christensen presented an award to Swedish singing-sensation Ace of Base.
Supermodels are getting a lot of flack from People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for modeling furs. According to the New York Post (6/3/96), Naomi Campbell, who posed in PETA anti-fur ads, recently did a shoot for W magazine in which she wore plenty of fur. Claudia Schiffer, who banned Fendi's fur show in Milan two seasons ago, decided to walk for the fashion house this year. Carla Bruni and Helena Christensen also modeled in the show. Back in New York, models Veronica Webb, Kristen McMenamy, Irina and Patricia Velasquez walked the catwalk during the recent Fur Fashion Week. "[Webb] is a fashion Klingon who will do anything for attention just to try to get a decent booking," said PETA honcho Dan Mathews. Mathews also fumed that he didn't expect Irina to know any better since she hails from the land of the Eskimos.
According to the New York Post (6/1/96), supermodels Tatjana Patitz (right), Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Kristen McMenamy, Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington and Amber Valletta (whew!) will all appear in fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh's new photo book 10 Women.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell celebrated her 26th birthday in Morocco with her Italian producer/filmmaker beau and supermodel compatriot Helena Christensen. Kate Moss was a no-show.
