Advance studio at the school of Architecture at Arlington, UTA. Studio of prof. Todd Hamilton, Architect AIA. Housing the urban cowboy project was a housing planning assignment with a small site in the outskirts of Dallas, USA. How does the architect handle the housing situation with the repeated pattern created by housing modules standing next to each other? The function, appearance and security was important aspects planning process. Next to the main street in the south a large "wall" construction containing small shops was planned to create the "safe zone" for the apartment complex. The apartment complex in the northwest of the site was elevated one story from the ground to amplify the feeling of space and light on the relatively small building site.
