10/03: Hard work in third period gives L.A. a 3-2 victory, its first in St. Louis since 1997. Blake, Palffy and Robitaille scored the goals for Kings. Coach Andy Murray called time out after the second Blues' goal. "We were being dominated physically . . . and I just wanted to tell them that there was half a hockey game left, and these things happened to Kings of the past, but they're not going to happen to us now." Six seconds later, Palffy scored hi`s first goal as a King.
This game was stolen by the Kings, they were out played, out shoot and out hit. But they found a way to get two points.
"We weren't happy with the effort tonight. The only positive thing is we found a way to win, We won an ugly hockey game." said Andy Murray, the Kings coach.

10/02: Kings wins season opener. Robitaille and Stumpel scored the goals in the 2 - 0 victory over Predators.

10/01: Defenseman Mattias Norstrom agreed to terms with the Kings, Norstrom a steady defensive player and hard hitter.

09/22: Kings have agreed that defender Jere Karalahti will play with IFK Helsinki in the Finnish Elite League untill he gets a work visa. Karalahti is likely to play with HIFK already this Thursday, away vs. Jokerit. Karalahti has, so far, not been awarded a work visa to the United States.

09/21: Fists fly at Forum when Kings crushes Ducks 8 - 1 before a roaring crowd of 12,559. Wow what a game. Six brawls in the third period.
Ziggy Palffy scored he`s first goal for the Kings. AND atotal of 175 penalty minutes, including 149 in the third period. The Kings had the game well in hand by the final period, scoring six second-period goals.
Duck winger Teemu Selanne was crashed heavily into the boards by King defenseman Aki Berg, Selanne needed several stitches to close a cut near his mouth. After that the Ducks' finally showed some life. The Ducks' blood boiled. Enforcer Stu Grimson set the stage for the brawling that was to come by roughing up King winger Ziggy Palffy at the 5:43 mark. Duck winger Ted Donato then fought Ian Laperriere at 6:59. Mike Leclerc of the Ducks fought Berg at 7:08. Duck heavyweight Jim McKenzie hammered away without mercy on King rookie Jason Podollan at 7:12.
Once play began again, it took all of three seconds for King enforcer Steve McKenna to pound away at Duck defenseman Jason Marshall. Meanwhile, several other fights broke out on the ice.
The Kings are 3-1-1 in exhibition play.

09/19: Chris Lindberg scored late in the third period to lift the Los Angeles Kings to a 2-2 tie with the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday. Storr made 33 saves for the Kings, while Shtalenkov stopped 24 shots for the Coyotes. Rob Blake had a power-play goal for the Kings.

09/17: The Kings lost for the first time in three games this preseason. Kings loses to Ducks 0 - 2. ANA Guy Hebert played really good in goal. "Tonight, Guy was the only guy who played well," Duck Coach Craig Hartsburg said. Kings squad lacked star players Luc Robitaille, Ziggy Palffy, Jozef Stumpel and Rob Blake. Coach Andy Murray decided to rest his top line. Big rematch in Great Western Forum on September 20. What will be the Kings last game ever at the Great Western Forum before they move into the new downtown Staples Center.

09/17: Kings have agreed terms with restricted free agent right winger Jason Podollan. Maybe Podollan earns a spot on Kings roster. The 23 year old Podollan played 10 games for the Kings 98-99 and registered 0 points, 5 PIM and a +/- 3.

09/15: Garry Galley scored with five seconds left in overtime to complete a comeback from a 2-0 deficit last night against the Colorado Avalanche at the GW Forum. Kings outshots Colorado 45 - 18. Rob Blake hade a good night with 1 goal and 1 assist. Kings controled the game thanks to tenacious forechecking and solid defensive. Kings wins the game with 2 - 3. Goals by Rob Blake, Vladimir Tsyplakov and Garry Galley.

09/12: Major rulechenges. A new format for overtime in the regular season is adopted. If the score is tied at the end of three periods, each team will be awarded one point in the League standings. The teams will then play a five minutes sudden death overtime period. A team scoring a goal would be the winner and would be awarded an additional point (for a total of two points). The overtime period shall be played with four skaters and one goalkeeper.
The roster limitation for 1999-2000 will be 23 players, down from the 24-player limit of last season.
The League will increase the number of games using the two-referee system.
The Board also approved a revised crease rule which will implement a "no harm, no foul, no video review" standard.

09/11: Kings skins Coyotes in preaseason game in Vegas 4 - 0. "Big Mac" Steve McKenna dropped the gloves with Cull. McKenna won this dance on knockout. Lapperriere showed that he is pretty good with his fists if he needs to. Coyotes Hansen got he`s ass whopped by Lappie. Aki Berg, Craig Johnson, Dan Bylsma and Pavel Rosa scored for the Kings. With big checks on any Coyote in sight Aki Berg really showed that he belongs in the NHL.

09/05: Kings reach agreement with restricted free agent right winger Glen Murray.

09/02: Kings reach agreement with restricted free agent defenseman Aki Berg club`s first-round draft choice (third overall) in 1995 draft.

08/09: Kings come to terms with restricted free-agent goaltender Stephane Fiset.

08/09: Kings reach agreement with restricted free-agent left winger Vladimir Tsyplakov.

07/30: Los Angeles Kings have agreed to terms on a contract with restricted free agent center Bryan Smolinski. "Acquiring Bryan was very important to us when we made our deal with the Islanders." Said general Manager Dave Taylor.

07/15: Kings reach agreement with restricted free agent left winger Steve McKenna. In 91 games with the Kings McKenna has registered 223 Penelty minutes.
