Graphics/sound-82/100
Driver is a PSX game therefore you can´t expect the graphics to reach the level of a modern PC with a e.g Riva TnT or Voodoo 2/3. Anyway, the graphics are well adjusted for the PSX engine and the cars are very detailed, on the bad side their complexity slows down the overall gameplay, especially when the screen is crowded with cars. With the gameplay of this game you don´t really care about the graphics. You can´t get a more detailed game like this for Playstation, both bad, both good. The sound and the music is well adapted for the game, funky sounds from the 70´s and cool comments from the game characters that you´ll never get tired of.
Gameplay-93/100
The gameplay is the greatest thing about this game, the cars react just like they do in real life. Imagine yourself cruising around downtown New York for about 90 Mph on your way to pick up some bank robbers , suddenly your dual-shock controller starts to vibrate like a maniac and you can see the red and blue lights of the cop car go crazy in the dark rainy night and the chase begins. The game is fairly big and the difficulty level is gradually increased as you rush through the levels. In other words, a great challenge.
Total score-91/100
I recomend this game for Need4Speed lovers
and GTA fans foremost, this game is nothing to choose if your
the Gran Turismo type, but thanks to the simple yet facinating
story this game can be fun for all types of gameplayers and gamehaters.
I promise you one thing though it will never get boring. One
of the greatest driving games around and probably the best for
Playstation.
