William is now almost 7 weeks and a very charming little boy (in our opinion of course!) even though he cries from time to time. He sleeps very well in his own room and I wake up very easily when it's time for food which happens 1-3 times every night depending on when he goes to bed. Last night was a record night with William asleep from 9.30 until 3.30. Hopefully this is the start of a new sleeping pattern. But you never know with babies
He's quite big for his age, about 6 kilos and 62 cm. When I compared him to a friend's baby who is 9 weeks older than William, they were the same size! Then I suppose he can be a basketball player instead of a golfer after all
We have started a class in baby massage and he loves it! The massage is supposed to be good for the immune system as well as a bonding thing between parents and children. The midwife said that the older children (a few months older than William) smile at you as soon as you ask them if they have had massage today. They tell you to actually ask the baby first if you can massage them and I thought that was a bit too much but he actually responded when I did ask him.
We've had some problem with wind and gas but Granny Barbara's advice to use Gripe Water has helped. He doesn't like the taste of it but once he's had it he usually burps which makes him much more comfortable. Luckily he takes the bottle already so we are planning to let my sister Gun baby sit in June when Dan and Johanna's wedding takes place. On June 7th it's time for William's christening and family and friends from near and far will attend.
