| Vila Moura and Midsummer |
|
More or less just arriving form my 101-cours in Germany I went "home", re-packed,
slept an hour or two and then got in the car to go to Algarve, tourist paradise in
Portugal! We, that means Peter L, Noreen, Erik, Steven and I, was to spend four days
in Algarve doing nothing but relaxing, touristing, visit the beach and never the less
celebrate the Swedish holiday: Midsummer!!

| Albufeira |

This is THE tourist town if you are in for party's! The streets are crowded
with party hungry people, but the age can be discussed! I am not sure I like these worms though, who ever came up with this Idea? Did they have pluming left from some construction or what?! Linda and I went back later this summer and (believe it or not) by then the worms came to significance for us, but that is another story you’ll have to wait for! |

In addition to party and laying on the beach we also went touristing, yes it’s true!
We took the car to a little village close to the Spanish border. Here we went for
lunch and a stroll around the village. Very nice but really slow and quiet (nice for
a change) compared to the party place Albufeira.

| Alvor |

Last day in Algarve we decided to go to Lagos and on the way stop by Alvor. Erik had
been in Alvor with his parents when he was around two years old and still remembered
stuff about it!! Like elevator-buttons, cliffs and rocks on the beach. So we put on
our best hunting suite and looked at the map for some directions to where this
place could bee. It had been over 20 years since Erik was here last time so it
would be very impressing to find it without trouble. We drove around feeling the
atmosphere around Alvor but no luck of the exact spot Erik had visited. Lucky for
us we live in the new era and usually at least one in a crowd have a mobile
phone and so even this time! Erik made a quick call to his parents and Yes, we
found the place. Needless to say the elevator-buttons Erik remembered had changed,
can you believe that?! But the cliffs and the rocks were still there! Sorry Erik, this was your great moment and I don’t have a photo of it! |
