Datorisering och datapolitik, Mats Bäck,1983 page 167-180
Computer politic has always been close to the military. In late 1930th, armsdeveloper needed help to do advance calculation for its work. During the war, the military needed help to break military codes. After the War, it was open for along time if we were going to develop our own nuclear weapons or not. The years after the War, was some investigation taken placed, and the mission was by a computer from the USA. Nevertheless, these products had a strategic value so it was impossible for them to buy this equipment. A group of Swedish engineers and technicians were allowed to the US learn how to build a computer. They were as well shown the blue prints over a computer.
In 1960th, the Swedish government started to use computer technique for their administrational work.
Another specialty for the Swedish computerpolitics in the early 70th was that the Swedish parliament was very little involved when it came to make important decision concerning computers. The ones that made the decision was a group with members from the government, scientists, the military, persons from the trade and industry. The parliament looked more like a company for transports, they decided what they were told by the government.
