National registration, the principles of public access to official records are very old in Sweden the new factor in this is the computer. Local and central authorities have adopted the new techniques very fast.
The computer technique makes it possible for the authorities to have control over their citizens. With help by the computer, it will be make new combinations, then questions were asked to the computer. New angels came up for further work-studies. Information from several different registrations can be co-ordinate to one data- link. One of the reasons to put people in the computer was to make the life easier and simpler.
The personal integrity an older version goes like this:
"My home is my castle". These five words are not to be forgotten. In a more modern version a persons possibility to have control over the information over them selves.
1973, Sweden as the first country in the world, a national law with one purposes just to protect the personal integrity. Authority was introduced at the same time as the new computer law. The Authority has three different laws to consider.
