Song for Beltaine

The youngster walks with eager steps
The feast is beginning, come one, come all
The clearing is in the forest's depths
And in the midst the maypole stands tall

Crown him with violet, vervain and bay
His love will meet him on the Eve of May

In the light of the silver moon
We're dancing to a golden tune
Leap the fire
Light the flame
Join in love
It's Beltaine

The maiden joins the ring to dance
She moves so gaily, how graceful she is
She hopes to see her love by chance
By the light of the bonfire he steals a kiss

Crown her with daisy, hawthorn and bay
Her love will join her on the Eve of May

In the light of the silver moon
We're dancing to a golden tune
Leap the fire
Light the flame
Join in love
It's Beltaine

See how they dance
See how they fly
See how they love
Intertwined

In the light of the silver moon
We're dancing to a golden tune
Leap the fire
Light the flame
Join in love
It's Beltaine
