A friend changes

Part 1

I stand here in the darkness and wondering what my friend is going to do. I know he will do something I sensed the feeling when I looked at him. The feeling I got was a strong quest for revenge, hate so furious that even I couldn't have stopped him if I wanted. As I looked in his eyes I saw all that and more, I saw grim determination. No one was going to stand between him and his task... I saw a man change, from being just a normal caring friend, to a wise but brutal killer. He had only one thing in his mind: to revenge. Everything else became a blur.

As Rand looked at his home he only thought one thing, hope. Hope that his family was well. He watched as flames rose from his home. Then he ran through the door to search for survivors. The rooms was covered with smoke, but he continued to search. And then he found what he was looking for. He saw a child laying on the floor unconscious with a big wound on his head. He desperately scooped up the child into his arms and carried him through the door to safety. At least for now, he thought to himself. He searched for a pulse on throat; he could barely feel the heartbeats pumping around the blood. He began to feel desperate; he wanted the child to live. What else could he do? It was his brother. The only family he had left.
Suddenly he noticed a movement and a faint voice. I'm sorry Rand, I couldn't save her from them, he whispered.
From who? asked Rand.
The Dark Lord came and took Moishar away, I couldn't stop him, he said faintly.
Who is this Dark Lord and what does he have to do with this? Rand asked in a soft voice. He could feel that life was beginning to go away from his brother and he didn't want it to happened.
He is a vicious killer and when he realized that she was alone with me he took his chance. He has always hated you and he said that he wanted to hurt you in the worst way. He burned down the house after he had knocked me down with the hilt off his sword, he murmured.
Rand stopped for a moment, moments were he felt cold rage filling him, but he knew that he couldn't do anything now. He would have to wait for his revenge. He couldn't feel his brother's heartbeats anymore. The face had a pale grey color and it felt cold.
-I will get my revenge! Rand spoke out loud. A head will swing for this!
That was all he said, but if you looked deep inside his eyes you could see pure hatred and something else. Something left Rand at that moment, it was like he had stopped being Rand. He had transformed into another person, a person who would seek out the one who murdered his brother. Death shone in his eyes.
From that day the soul which held the name Rand had disappeared. Instead another soul grew inside the body. A soul with only one goal: to seek out his brother's murderer and kill him. Rand didn't exist anymore, Moridin were there instead. An appropriate name for the soul. Death was coming.
