Natural Filter Mineral  For Aquariums And Ponds

LUCKY-FISH is a Natural Filter Mineral for Aquaria and Ponds. It is produced from Natural ZEOLITE Mineral known as "CLINOPTILOLITE". A large internal surface area and a high pore volume exist in the hydrated aluminosilicate crystal structure of the mineral originating from its uniform intersecting two dimensional pores of molecular sizes. Molecules with kinetic diameters smaller than the pore diameter are selectively adsorbed by this mineral. Additionally, alkali and alkaline earth metal cations in the pores are exchanged with other cations smaller than the pore size in AQUEOUS MEDIA which gives the mineral also selective ion exchange properties.  The normal biological activity of feeding fish produces ammonium which contaminates the water. Ammonium is one of the most significant toxic metabolites in aquaculture and is extremely harmful to fish in concentrations exceeding a few parts per million. In oxygen - poor environments such concentrations of ammonium can lead to damage of gill tissue, various gill diseases, a reduction in the growth rate, stunted growth rate and high mortality rates. LUCKY-FISH is effective in the removal of ammonium ions from recirculating fish culture systems namely in;

When a system incorporating a clinoptilolite ion-exchange unit is used in hatcheries, 90% of the ammonium produced in recirculating water are removed. Throw-away cartridges and filters containing LUCKY-FISH are used to regulate the ammoniacal nitrogen (NH3 - N) content of home aquaria and tanks are used to transport tropical fish from the time they are caught until they reach the hobbyist. When LUCKY-FISH is used, ammonium ions produced by decomposing fish excrement and waste food are extracted. Thus, the number of live fish hauled in tank trucks during transportation increase.

When recirculating water is passed through LUCKY-FISH natural granules;
