    Natural Mineral For Manure Management

    CLI-BED/3000 is a natural mineral and fertilizer additive.It is produced from Natural ZEOLITE Mineral known as "CLINOPTILOLITE". A large internal surface area and a high pore volume exist in the hydrated aluminosilicate crystal structure of the mineral originating from its uniform intersecting two-dimensional pores of molecular sizes. Molecules with kinetic diameters smaller than the pore diameter are selectively adsorbed by this mineral. Additionally, alkali and alkaline earth metal cations in the pores can be exchanged with other cations smaller than the pore size in aqueous media, which gives the mineral also selective ion exchange properties. High ion exchange capacity, ammonium selectivity and ability to sorb excess moisture makes CLI-BED/3000 ideal and attractive product to solve manure management problems stated below. The basic concerns for manure management are;

    1. To maintain human health,
    2. To maintain the environment,
    3. To utilize the nutrients in the manure effectively,
    4. To control the odor.

    After excretion, manure is often stored for later use. While stored, nitrogen in Urine is lost to atmosphere as Ammonia, depending on temperature, air movement,  storage time and pH. In the waste liquid of swine manure, pH is higher. At a higher pH, there will be a higher volatilization of ammonium that poisons the atmosphere. On the other hand, copper, zinc and other trace metals are added to the diet of pigs, copper to promote weight gain and zinc to offset the toxicity of the copper. When manure is used as a fertilizer, these metals and other potentially dangerous metals such as cadmium, lead and arsenic may be concentrated in the food crops grown for human consumption. These heavy metals in the manure must be trapped to prevent them from entering food chain for human health. The nutrients of most concern in the manure are nitrogen and phosphorus. Nitrogen in manure converts to nitrates in the soil and can end up in ground water. Phosphorus in manure can potentially move without runoff and stimulate algae and aquatic plant growth leading to eutrophication of surface water. Other concern is offensive ammonia fumes from horse stalls, poultry houses, pig pens and litter trays which must be eliminated.
    The solution to all these problems is CLI-BED/3000 which;
    * Adsorbs ammonia,
    * Adsorbs liquids and undesired malodors,
    * Adsorbs heavy metals,
    * Destroys microorganisms and bacteria,
    * Regulates pH of manure, reduces volatization of the ammonia,
    * Becomes an excellent slow-liberation fertilizer for soils when mixed with all kinds of animal manure.
