Malta

Some information about Malta

Itīs located in the center of the Mediterranean, between North Africa and Sicily. The island is a natural paradise where one encounters, both above and below the water surface, by no means faded traces of its eventful past.

Wreckdiving, drop-offs, caves and very good visibility. Malta is the best place in the Mediterranean for diving. The group of islands (Malta, Gozo and Comino) have the clearest water in the Mediterranean sea. The rocky shores is perfect for diving. The spectacular coastline which comprises steep, vertical cliffs within which are some of the most fantastic arches, caves, tunnels and other spectacular rock formations. Many of these stretch down well below the surface of the sea.

The Blue lagoon is perfect for snorkeling with itīs crystal clear water. The Blue Lagoon separates the west coast of Comino, the small island between malta and Gozo, from Cominotto, its tiny appendage. The Blue Lagoon is very popular as you can see on the picture above.

Summary: Malta is probably one of the best choices in the Mediterranean if youīre going on a diving vacation.
If you live in Europe and you canīt afford to go to the Red Sea, Asia, West Indies or so, Malta is a very good choice.
I recommend
Aqua Venture as diveguides if you are going to dive, they are located in Mellieha Bay.
