My racing career

In 1989 I bought myself a '83 Mazda RX-7 for every day use. I drove it for about 50.000 km without any major problems. In the meantime my interest for circuit racing grew and finally I checked whether the RX-7 could fit into some racing formula in Sweden, and it could. My decision was to try it out without to high costs so I attended a driving school in April 1991 to get me my license. It was a one-day school and after this I felt like I could win everything, or was that just my ego............

With some safety modifications as safety harness, roll over bar and mainswitch fitted to the car, I started my very first race. As there weren’t too many starters in each class the organisers had to put different classes into the same heat. As I was the only one in my class I was pretty sure to win (and of course be the ded last as well but I normally doesn’t mention this).
