Tårta with creamy cheese and ham
10-12 servings
Ingredients:
6 slices white bread
6 slices dark bread, not too sweet
(pumpernickel, wholegrain dark bread, german Vollkorn etc)
all the slices cut on the lenght
Try to bake or buy bread of same size as the white bread.
200 gram smoked ham
400 gr room tempered butter or margarine
1 tblsp mustard,
200 gram blue cheese (roquefort, gorgonzola, danablu etc.)
200 gram Brie cheese
10-15 radishes
100 gram green grapes
1 small tin of mandarine slices.
1 bag of shelled walnuts (25-35 halves)
Instructions:
1. Prepare a ham-spread from the fine-sliced ham mixed
with 200 gram butter and the mustard. Prepare a
cheesespread from the green cheese, the Brie cheese
and the rest of the butter.
2. The Tårta is made in four layers. First three white
bread slices (remove the edges). Spread the ham-mix
on top. Then add three slices of dark bread with
cheese-spread on top. Third layer; white bread with
hamspread. Cover with the last three darkbread slices.
Wrap in plastic foil and put in the fridge overnight.
3. Spread cheesecream over the cake and around the sides,
garnish the top with tops of cheesecream around the edges.
Garnish the sides with halved grapes and radishes.
The top of the tårta is decorated with mandarine slices
and walnut halves, halved grapes and finally thin slices
of radishes in the "cheese-tops" (see picture)
