Welcome to my dvd-place. First of all, do you know what dvd is? If not read the following!

DVD IS THE NEW FILM FORMAT FOR HOME USE! One disc (same size as a cd) can contain multiple languages, subtitles and camera angles. I dont know how to explain, because the picture and sound are soooo good.
Ever caught yourself tracking that VCR? Well, you can forget that, since the picture on a dvd is perfect, ALWAYS. The sound is 24/96, which means that its 24 bit and 96 Khz and thats better than ordinary cd:s. Every film is divided into several chapters, to view a chapter, just enter the number and the dvd-player will jump to the chapter in no time.

These are the movies that I currently own!

DVD

DVD, or digital versatile disc, this new medium for watching films, brings consumers the ultimate home cinema experience. A single DVD can contain any full-length film on a 12cm disc, as well as multiple language versions of the film, dubbed or subtitled. The convenience and durability of CD's combined with ease-o-use, exciting features and unparalleled data storage, place DVD's at the forefront of multimedia technology.

DVD is a standard already adopted by consumer electronics, computer and entertainment companies worldwide.

DVD BASIC STRUCTURE

At first sight, DVD looks like a conventional music CD: silvery and waferthin, 12 centimetres in diameter and only 1,2 millimetres thick.

In fact, a DVD disc is two 0,6mm discs which are bonded together. A music CD is a 1,2mm singlesided disc.

This structure gives the DVD considerable advantages such as more mechanical stability, hence higher data storage capacity, andbetter resistance to heat and humidity than conventinal CD's

DVD DISC STRUCTURES

The DVD standard allows for one to four information layers on the same DVD: from a single-sided/single-layer disc with 4,7 gigabytes capacity (DVD-5) to a double-sided/dual-layer disc with 17 gigabytes capacity (DVD-18). This is the DVD family.

This means: dfepending on the total number of layers available, you can have from 7 to 25 times more data stored on a DVD than on a conventional CD
