These modules are designed for use in PentiumTM based systems with any Intel-supported system bus frequencies. The Corsair SDRAM modules offer the ultimate in memory subsystem performance.
The DIMM memory format supports modules which carry 168 signals, rather than the thirty signals or seventy-two signals supported by conventional SIMMs. These additional signals allow the entire memory requirement of the system to be met with just one module. The socket also supports the additional control signal requirements of the SDRAMs, and thus supports SDRAM, EDO, and FPM memory in the same socket.
Corsair SDRAM modules have an on-board EEPROM which contains critical configuration information about the module. This feature, known as Serial Presence Detect (SPD), allows the platform's chip set and BIOS to quickly determine the type of memory installed in the system, resulting in optimal system performance.
