NOTES

For the following seasons are tables missing: 1937/38, 1939/40, 1946/47, 1952/53, 1954/55, 1981/82, 1992/93. 1940/41 - 1943/44: Not played because of WWII. 1947/48: No championship played. 1949/50 - 1951/52: No championship played. 1953/54: No championship played. 1956/57: The result of the championshipdeciding game between Salesian Youth & SK Calypsians is not known. 1959/60: No championship played. 1960/61: Championship not played through because of problems within the Gozo football association. 1966/67: Three more goals scored than conceded in the table I've used. Also, SK Wanderers were banned from the competition. Season not counted in Wanderers totals as their record was declared null and void. 1969/70: Two more goals scored than conceded in the table I've used. 1971/72: One more goal scored than conceded in the table I've used. 1973/74: A championship decider (Ghajnsielem - Victoria Hotspurs 1-0) was played as the two top teams ended on equal points and the rules of the day stipulated a playoff if that happened. The game is counted in the table. 1974/75: 12 more goals scored than conceded in the table I've used. 1976/77: Three more goals scored than conceded in the table I've used. 1977/78: Twelwe more goals scored than conceded in the table I've used. 1978/79: The original table has 0-14 in goals scored and conceded for Xewkija Tigers which must be wrong as they have won one game! The original table also has three less goals scored than conceded. I find it plausible that the missing three goals were scored by Xewkija Tigers and have consequently added three goals to their goals scored for this season. 1979/80: The original table has 6-4 in goals scored and conceded for Sannat Lions but that is obviously wrong as Sannat has seven wins! The overall goaldifference also has 10 more goals conceded than scored. I think Sannot Lions scored those 10 missing goals and have 16-4 not 6-4 in goals scored and conceded. Subsequently, I've added 10 goals to Sannat Lions goals scored total. 1979/80: A championship decider (Victoria Hotspurs - Sannat Lions 1-1, 0-0 & 1-0) was played as the two top teams ended on equal points and the rules of the day stipulated a playoff if that happened. The games are counted in the table. 1980/81: There two more goals scored than conceded in the table I've used. 1984/85: Xewkija Tigers had two points deducted. 1987/88: The following teams had points deducted: Xaghra United -1, Nadur Youngsters -2, Calypsian Bosco Youths -2, Ghajnsielem -2, Kercem Ajax -1. 1989/90: A championship decider (Sannat Lions - Xaghra United 1-0) was played as the two top teams ended on equal points and the rules of the day stipulated a playoff if that happened. The game is counted in the table. 1990/91: A championship decider (Xewkija Tigers - Victoria Hotspurs 0-1) was played as the two top teams ended on equal points and the rules of the day stipulated a playoff if that happened. The game is counted in the table. 1990/91: One more goal scored than conceded and four more losses than wins in the table I have used. 2000/01: A championship decider (Xewkija Tigers - Nadur Youngsters 4-3) was played as the two top teams ended on equal points and the rules of the day stipulated a playoff if that happened. The game is counted in the table. 2002/03: Xewkija Tigers had two points deducted. 2003/04: Relegations deciders (Xewkija Tigers - Sannat Lions 2-1, Sannat Lions - Kercem Ajax 0-2, Kercem Ajax - Xewkija Tigers 1-2) were played as the three last teams three ended on equal points and the rules of the day stipulated a playoff if that happened. The games are counted in the table. 2011/12: A relegation decider between Victoria Hotspurs and Ghajnsielem - 5-1 - is counted. SK Victoria Wanderers were previously called SK Wanderers. RAF = Royal Air Force.
