In 1967 a baby boy was born. This little creature was me. I was given the name Robert. The place of birth was a little town in Sweden, called Mjölby, where I was also raised. Sweden during this time was very safe to grow up in. And in years to follow (my birth that is) I did what kids usually do. Five years later the world was blessed with by the birth of my sister, Veronica. A most wonderful sister...
And as life moved on, the seventh year came. I had developed an interrest for all kinds technical devices. Disecting, and toss them to the pile of Post Mortem Apparatuses. It was not until about fourteen, the ability to actually be able to assemble the machines in the pile was gained (Not as much fun I guess "Ha ha!").
Anyhows, at around this time (sometime in the early 1980's) the introduction batch of computers came to town. Very interresting, the young little me thought. At close encounter with a wonderbox at school, I was hooked. Mostly by games in the beginning, but a few years later, a new breed of computers was brought to light. First there was a very sophisticated machine, which was named after it's inventor, Clive Sinclair. The Sinclair QL didn't do very well on the market, but the young man, owe his entire basic knowledge to the creators of this (at the time) powerhouse. Also in the early 1980 it was very popular, as the synthesizer became well spread, to be part of a pop-music band. And yes, I was. In fact I was the lead character of several such bands. Very creative and with a strong spirit, one of these bands came a long way in the locality. With this, we can call it local fame, me gained a lot of confidence. But as humble as I try to be, I only hung around, learning, about people, about the world we live in.
Since the interrests have always included music (both listening and composing) I continuously had an eye open, for new musical instruments... and one day when reading the famous Keyboard Magazine, an ad made my whole life change. It was an ad for a computer program (a music composer) called Pro24 (from Steinberg/Jones), designed to run on a machine from Atari Corporation. Alas this new logic box was aquired (my P's made a BIG contribution) and further knowledge was a fact. What I learned about this computer, I feel, was essential for the future. Though I didn't know that at the time...
Now, years later (gosh, that many?) when the PC has reached standards taken for granted with the Sinclair and Atari computers, Microsoft with Windows 95/NT, has set the standard for the years to come. The Windows operative system is in many ways very similar to the ones, spoken of, in the past. This might be because Microsoft has taken a combination of the best parts from the older machines, and created a good platform. As the years earlier in life has given me great knowledge of different operative systems, I felt most familiar to Windows at first glance.
So what do I know? Geez... how about Assembler (Motorola 68k series), Visual C/C++, Visual Basic and Pascal? Currently I program in the Win32 and MFC environment using Visual C++. I also have the HTML and Visual Basic Script knowledge, as to program Web Pages like the ones you are reading right now.
So, this is me, hope you didn't passed away of boredoom. (But then again, you wouldn't have read this far, would you? "He he!") Maybe we'll meet someday, in the virtual world. Who knows...
"Say What?! You want to check my photoalbum? Oh my..."
