More about Iréne...

      I work right now, 75% as a nurse in a collective for mentally challenged adults, about 55 miles from my home.

      I got married at the age of 17 and I was a "luxwife" which is a wife who lives a luxurious lifestyle. I gave birth to 4 children in 8 years. In 1976 I received my drivers licence and started to look at the labor market.

      I started on a market garden and was seasonally employed for 3,5 years. The market garden closed and it was time for me to study and I wrote to a garden school and was accepted. I studied for 2 years and then I got work as a handy-person on a experimental farm for fruits and berries which was owned by the government. Then I got Malignant Melanoma (skin cancer) on my face because of too much exposure to sunlight and insecticides.

      It was time for me to find new employment without much sunlight. But what was available for a 36 year old newly divorced mother with 4 children. The solution I found was a nursery. Then I started part-time work in a collective and I have been in this kind of work ever since, with studies in between.

      My children lived with there own families for some years now and I am a proud grandparent of 10 grandchildren.

      My interests are genealogy, technic, computers, rally, American cars, hockey, volleyball and dance.

      I also enjoy other things that give sense to my life.
