Corsair V4 2000cc 1966

Naturally there is for nostalgic reasons my choice of which classic car I have chosen (most people do have a classic in their mind). All started in 1963 when my father came home with the first Corsair of -64 ,a yellow one with brown interior and a 1500cc Cortina GT engine, then our following cars came -65 a grey one with red interior (new steeringwheel-design). In 1966 with more changes, the white car with red interior had a new V4 engine, a new dashboard and chromed airgrille outside, and also a new “climatecontrol”, the last one a -67 V4 grey wich was kept in the family until 1974 when it was hit by a Volvo and unfortunately the heavy one wins:

The most important thing on this website, with many different pics of various cars is to show and engage the wiewer into this very attractive model of old Fords, I will not describe any specification as they already exist on the net (FCOC) see links. As it also change platform with the famous Cortina wich has a tremendous quantity of websites on the internet and I will not get deeper into this. Look at the links-page and there you find links to other more comprehensive websites for that. The car is attached with very good driveability and was one of the smoothest and comfortable cars you could get for the kind of money in Ford demand for it the sixties.

I am lucky to have one of the rarest one(a two door saloon) with GT- equipment sold under deluxe name only for export and here in scandinavia there is only a handfull of them left, the car is, compare to much newer cars, very lively and responsible to drive and is still very comfortable after 36 years living in central sweden with all these -20 degrees winters and salt on the road. My intention is to drive it weekly even under the worst weatherconditions, because it is used to that conditions. That says a little about the quality Ford has buildt into this car. Volvo, Mercedes and some RR could NOT be compared, they have had much more attention for services and (taking care of) than this car ever had.
