DVD

So You want to know what I know?
Nemas problemas!

First off I have a Creative PC-DVD Encore 5x dxr2 player, it comes with hardware region protection : (.
As of today 981123 there is no known crack or fix for this. I will post news as soon as I know anything new.

One problem I had was that I wanted to see the DVD movies on my TV aswell as my computer (fancy stuff).
My TV set did not have the necessary S-VHS output but a Scart contact. After some intense reading I found out that I could take the output from the dxr2 card and make a cable to fit the Scart contact.

Way to do this is:
Get yourself a cable that has a Scart in one end and a S-VHS in the other. Observe that the Scart should be specific for input!
It says on the box or the reseller will guide you. Now if the distance (TV-puter) is right you only need to connect, provided the plugs are correct male-female ends. Otherwise keep reading...

In case your Tv is far away from your puter or connectors don't fit get a connection cable from the Scart cable to the cable included with the dxr2 card (You don't want to wreck the included cable, at least I didn't).
Now get pliers, soldering iron, some isolation tape and start cutting.

Open the scart's S-VHS side carefully removing plastic not any metal. You will get 2 signal cables and 2 ground strings. Do the same to the extension cables end in case you got one. Now put the 2 signal cables together with the ones from the other end(Yes I know it sounds crazy but believe me I have tried all combinations) and put the 2 grounds together also. Solder for better connection.

There's a little catch... You won't get any audio this way. There are 3 ways to proceed...

1.    No audio, naah
2.    Connect to puter's sound card and take the signals to the stereo next to your TV.
3.    Get yourself a Dolby Digital capable receiver (I'm going to). Connect via the RCA cable next to the S-VHS included with the          dxr2 card.
