Here at this page youīll find information on tattoos in general, how to
take care of your tattoo and FAQs. Letīs begin with the FAQs.
Does it hurt?
Yes, it hurts, but it depends on where on your body you do it and of course
how sensitive you are. The pain is very hard to describe and it was nothing
what I expected. I suppose that it canīt be described, cause pain is different
from one person to another.
What does it cost?
Well, thatīs very different from one tattoo artist to another. I sugest
that if you have an idea or a picture of your tattoo, go to the studio
and ask them for a price.
Is it dangerous to get a tattoo?
If you donīt take care of the tattoo afterwards it could get infected and
that could ruin your tattoo and make you sick.
If you got to a studio, make sure that theyīre members of a tattoorganisation
like APTA (Association of Professional Tattoo Artists). Theyīre guaranteed to keep their tools and instruments steril
and theyīll take good care of you and your health. It might not sound
important to you but keep in mind that AIDS and other venereal diseases
spread via blood! Several persons have been infected with AIDS when they got
their tattoo... Do you want to be next?!
What should I think of before getting a tattoo?
Itīs permanent so make sure that youīre absolutely satisfied with your motive.
You canīt wash it off after a few days! Remember that itīs up to you and only you
what and where it shall be. Listen to your heart and not to your friends!
Do I really want to do this?
When the answer is yes - make an appointment!
This is my hero, Paddy (left) and his assistent. Iīm so sorry, but I canīt
remember his name. So embarrasing!

After youīve gotten your tattoo itīs VERY important to follow the following
advise precisely. (From Ommadawn Tattoo)
1. Remove the compress after two hours or as recommended by the tattoo artist.
2. Keep the tattoo clean during the entire healing process. (Normally
7 - 14 days) Wash the tattoo on a daily basis with mild soap and hot water.
3. Do NOT rub the tattoo.
4. Do NOT scratch the tattoo.
5. Protect your tattoo from the sun for at least two months.
6. Do not take steam baths, chlorinebaths or outdoor baths until the tattoo is
properly healed. (14 days)
7. Smear the tattoo thriftly with an antiseptic ointment. (Swedish read "Helosan salva")
8. Do NOT use vaseline or any other ointment on the tattoo. Ask your tattoo artist
wich ointments are ok to use.
9. Portect you tattoo from sunlight with strong sunblock if you enjoy taking
sunbaths after the tattoo has healed.
10. If you still encounter problems during the healing process call your
tattoo atrist immediately! Do not accept advise or help from friends and family.
My friend Jenny took this photo when I was getting my first tattoo. And as
you can see it didnīt kill me! *lol*
Unfortunately Iīve got some very BAD news! Paddy has left Sweden for good
and went back to Ireland. Heīll be visiting Sweden approximatley once a year
in another studio. I donīt know wich one exactly but Iīll keep you posted.
This is indeed sad news for all of us Paddy fans. I have no idea where Iīll go
now to get my tattoos fixed... Any suggestions? Please e-mail me!
